It's always a treat to be recognized for one's accomplishments, growth as an artist, and as a person. To me, it means a greater responsibility to strive, not only to uphold the standards of workmanship and artistic creativity, but to raise the bar higher, to work harder, and to share the skills and knowledge learned with others. Most of all, the honors I've received have caused me to reflect and say, "Thank You," to my family, friends, and customers, for allowing me the opportunity to grow and create. |
Awards are nice, but it's not what you get in life that's really important, it's what you give to others that truly counts. |

Every recognition is appreciated, but I must say, the ones that came unexpectedly are the ones I treasure most. Having a letter my daughter wrote (at eight years old ) , published as a finalist in a local newspaper's, "Mother of the Year" contest, was not only my greatest surprise, but the one that most touches my heart. Being named an "Everyday Hero" by the American Red Cross, being presented with the "Lifetime Service Award" by the Elderly Services of my community, and being named "A Woman of Substance" by the Connecticut Post Publishing Company, all came as complete surprises. I get so much personal joy out of serving my community. There are no words to describe the feeling of being reccognized for doing something that, by it's very nature,rewards you each day that you're involved. |
